Biography
Vahan Matevosyan is a sculptor, multimedia artist, and educator. He was born in the village of Ditak in 1992. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in the class of Hermann Pilz. Earlier, he studied under Samvel and Manvel in the studio of Bagdasaryan, who were among the pioneers of contemporary art in Armenia and had a significant influence on him. He learned and then worked under Vahagn Bagdasaryan.
The main subject of Vahan's study is Human Being with his role and significance in nature, as well as the archetype of the latter in culture. He works emphasize the interconnection between volume, color, and material, weaving and combination, which makes it a means of self-awareness and self-expression. Vahan, as a co-founder of the NGO G.Urban, also participates in a number of educational activities and combines the "Art works for Peace" program with cultural events.
